SonicallyCohesive is a mathematical equation for scoring a musical track’s proximity to audio perfection. Eschewing AI, big data, machine learning, neural networks—and the human biases inherent with those technologies—SonicallyCohesive’s mathematical formulation is derived from equations of physics that are fundamental.

We perform an objective and repeatable music analysis that defines fitness for human consumption and evaluates emotional connection between artist and listener. Our work is about crafting a musical composition or body of work that feels like a unified whole, where every sonic detail is intentionally designed to contribute to the overall sound and emotional impact of the music.

SonicallyCohesive showcases its rating system and competitive music-industry edge by scoring singles dropped Fridays on the Recording Industry Association of America® (RIAA) and  A2IM website newmusicfriday.com.

The rating system is simple: SonicallyCohesive scores singles with a result between 0 and 1. The closer the result is to zero, the nearer the song is to sonic perfection.

An outstanding SonicallyCohesive score does not guarantee commercial success in and of itself. Other contributing factors such as marketing and name recognition play outsized roles in such an achievement. But evidence shows that outstanding SonicallyCohesive scores correlate with chart staying power and, therefore, with hit potential.

SonicallyCohesive forms the basis of an Artists & Repertoire (A&R) creative consultancy owned and operated by johnmaslin.org llc—an independent theoretical physics research center located in Wyoming, USA.
